Round 1 · The task

Show us how you'd build partnerships for Pumper

No resume black hole. We hire on how you think and what you've actually closed. Read the situation below, then answer in your own words. We can tell a real plan from a generic one.

The brief

Pumper grows when great partners grow with us.

Pumper is a Shopify app, and a big part of our growth comes from partners: agencies, app and technology partners, affiliates, communities and creators. Research Pumper and the Shopify partner ecosystem, then show us how you'd turn partnerships into a real, measurable channel. Answer using your real deals and real numbers. AI-sounding answers are auto-rejected.

1. Your before → after track record For each role that matters, give the hard numbers: company / role, the metric (partners signed, partner-sourced revenue, pipeline), where it was when you joined, where you took it, and over how long. Exact, verifiable numbers only. We may check these.

2. Describe ONE partnership you built end-to-end Sourced, closed and grew. Walk us through it: how you found them, how you structured the deal, the result, and what you personally owned vs. the team.
3. A deal that fell through or underdelivered One partnership or deal that didn't work out the way you expected. What happened, and what did you take away from it?
4. Your tools Which CRM, outreach and analytics tools have you used to run a partner pipeline?
5. Your outreach-to-partner conversion Roughly how many partners have you personally reached out to, and how many of those actually closed and became partners? Give the numbers and your rough success rate. Ballpark is fine, just be honest.
6. Output over effort This role is judged on partners signed and revenue influenced, not effort. Are you comfortable with that? Yes or no, and why.
7. Why partnerships at a small product like Pumper, instead of a big brand?
